About Hiroshi Yoshida:
Stones & Water Artist in Japan
I create Stones & Water Art and take still and moving images of them.
In 2010,
I encountered Rockbalancing in Canada and started piling stones in rivers and oceans.
Since 2016,
I have been working on the theme of "Rock Balancing Four Seasons".
I pursue and photograph the art of balancing stones according to time and place.
I try to use stones on land as much as possible because stones on the river bottom are inhabited by eggs and algae of aquatic organisms.
The finished work is crumbled before I leave so as not to disturb the scenery.
Currently,
I am working in the Akigawa River,
and I am focusing on the movement of water, which changes depending on how the stones are piled and assembled.
